MAYZSOUL Inc. PRESENTS “ReWorked”
Washington, D.C. – Mayzsoul Inc., a Washington, D.C. Metropolitan area nonprofit-based dance company, will present “Reworked” on Sunday, June 3rd, 2012. The dance performance will be held at the Workhouse Arts Center, W-3 Theater in Lorton, Virginia.
Wanting to change is easy and manifesting change can be simple. But forcing change on others can create chaos. “ReWorked” was born out of this chaos within Mayzsoul.
With “ReWorked”, Mayzsoul will present a rare glimpse inside the mind of the choreographers and the steps necessary to transform an idea into a performance. Each choreographer will introduce their work and creative process. There will also be a post performance discussion with the entire cast.
Also in the program is an excerpt of a forthcoming work with original music composed by Fight Mannequins, which will be part of “Souls” debuting in July at the Capital Fringe Festival.
Mayzsoul is a collaboration of local dance artists and Founding Artistic Director, Melanie Lalande, also Artistic Director of Cirque du Soleil’s “The Beatles LOVE”. Its mission is to create and grow a community of artists and dancers that will continue artistic exploration and education while producing quality performances. Mayzsoul’s goal is to create a space where artists can come see a familiar face, meet new people, openly exchange new ideas, and revisit old ones.
